With the 2012 Thanksgiving weekend coming to a close the California Highway Patrol Reports that statewide Driving Under the Influence arrests were down significantly from last year. This weekend last year there were 903 people arrested for DUI compared to only 840 DUI arrests so far this weekend.
The CHP did report that fatalities were up this weekend compared to last year. 17 people died in fatal collisions this year compared to 14 in the same weekend last year. It is still unknown how many of the fatal collisions involved alcohol related accidents. For more information visit: California Highway Patrol.
